Data Deletion — Saurava Pilot
This page explains how you can request deletion of your Saurava Pilot account and the personal data associated with it. It also explains which records we are legally required to retain even after account deletion.
For the broader Saurava Pilot privacy policy, see privacy policy.
How to request deletion
Send an email to info@sauravadrones.com with the subject line:
Delete my Saurava Pilot account
In the email body, include:
- Your registered phone number (the one you use to log into the app)
- Your full name as it appears on your pilot record
- A one-line confirmation that you are the account holder
We will reply within 2 business days to acknowledge the request and confirm the phone number matches our records. If verification succeeds, deletion is processed within 30 days.
If email is not practical, ask your hub coordinator to raise the request on your behalf. The coordinator will forward it to our operations team who will follow the same verification and deletion flow.
What we delete
Within 30 days of a verified request, we delete the following from our production database:
- Your name, phone number, and pilot ID
- Your DGCA license number (where recorded)
- Your Firebase Cloud Messaging token (push notification subscription)
- Your stored profile photo (if any)
- Your login credentials and session tokens
- Personal metadata: onboarding date, employment status, contact preferences
After this step, the account cannot be used to sign in and you will no longer receive push notifications from the Saurava Pilot app.
What we retain (and why)
Some job-execution records tied to your historical work as a pilot are retained for 7 years after the job’s completion date. This is required by India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) record-keeping guidance for licensed drone operators, and applies even after your account is deleted.
The retained records include:
- Job execution timestamps (started, in-progress, completed)
- Delivery evidence photos (vehicle checkout, drone checkout, farm arrival, post-spray verification, return-to-hub)
- GPS coordinates captured during active jobs (proof of presence at the assigned farm plot)
- Checklist responses (pre-flight, post-flight, inventory)
- Issue reports you filed via the “Flag an issue” feature
These records are pseudonymised — your name and phone number are removed, and each record is tagged only with your (now-deleted) pilot ID for regulatory traceability. Saurava Drones staff can no longer look up “which pilot did this job” by name after deletion; only the pilot ID remains.
After the 7-year period lapses, the pseudonymised records are also deleted. Encrypted backups may persist for up to 90 days after any deletion, following standard AWS backup lifecycles.
